Rohan Bopanna is an Indian Tennis Player & Philanthropist. He was born on 4 March 1980 in Bengaluru in the state of Karnataka, India. Rohan is 38 years old. Rohan Bopanna started playing tennis at the age of 11 but that was only because of his father wish beacuse he wanted him to take sports as his career, but at the age of 19, he made tennis as his number one priority.

 He was trained by C.G. Krishna Bhupathi at Mahesh Bhupathi Tennis Academy in Bangalore. He turned pro in 2003 and tried his best to qualify for the  singles event but realized that is game suits the doubles style of play.He started partnering Mahesh Bhupathi in men’s doubles and Sania Mirza in mixed doubles

Rohan Bopanna Father’s Name is  M.G. Bopanna and  Mother’s Name is Malika Bopanna. He is married to Supriya since 2012.

In Asian Games 2018 Bopanna-Divij Sharan clinch men’s doubles gold at Jakarta.

Rohan Bopanna Tennis Career

He made his Davis Cup debut for India versus Australia in September 2002 and turned pro in 2003.

 Bopanna Emerged as India’s finest doubles players at the 2007 Hopman Cup. Pairing with Sania Mirza they defeated  Czech Republic in the final and decisive mixed doubles match.

Bopanna won the men’s doubles title at the 2008 Countrywide Classic in Los Angeles with partner Eric Butorac. This was his first ATP doubles title.

In 2009 he qualified for Chennai opens , but lost in the first round. In the same year he made it to the final of the SAP Open in San Jose, partnering with Jarkko Nieminen.

In Year 2010, he started with great high  reaching the quarterfinal of the Chennai Open partnering Mahesh Bhupathi.

In year 2010 with Pakistani Player Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, Bopanna won his second, and the duo’s first, ATP doubles title, beating Karol Beck and Harel Levyin the final of the SA Tennis Open, 2–6, 6–3, [10–5].

In June, 2010 Bopanna and Qureshi made it to the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam event for the first time in their careers at the 2010 Wimbledon Championships.

With Qureshi, he reached the quarterfinals of 2011 French Open.

In 2012, Bopanna played with compatriot Mahesh Bhupathi. They were seeded fourth at the 2012 Australian Open.

On 4 November 2012, Bopanna and Mahesh Bhupathi won the Paris Masters cup.

Rohan partnered Eduard Roger Vasselin in Wimbledon in 2013 and reached the semifinals 

After the team’s run at Wimbledon in 2013, Rohan reached his career best ranking of world no. 3 in doubles on 22 July 2013 and was also the first time ranked as the highest Indian on the rankings table.

Bopanna entered 2018 Australian Open with Hungarian Tímea Babos. They reached the finals but lost to pair of Gabriela Dabrowski and Mate Pavić in the final.

Bopanna is grass-court enthusiast, his favourite tournament is Wimbledon.

He has endorsed ZEVEN brand since 2015 and is regularly seen wearing performance products made by this sports brand from India.

Bopanna is a well-known foodie.

He is also the part owner of a very popular restaurant called ‘Cirrus’ in Bangalore.

Teamed up with Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi to form the Indo-Pak Express and reached his maiden Grand Slam final at the US Open in 2010.
