“I don’t have any problem working with female director. I have worked with Farah Khan who is a competent female director, but this time actress (Kangna Ranaut) has made the entire issue about male chauvinism and it is ridiculous”.

He joined Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering to pursue B.Tech in Electronics Engineering, but in 2nd year he got motivated towards Modelling & Acting.
- During his struggling days, he use to live in one room apartment with six other boys and his initial salary was Rs 4500 per month.

In 1999, Sood was introduced to Tamil language films with Kallazhagar and Nenjinile.
He began his career in Hindi movies with film Shaheed-E-Azam, as Bhagat Singh in 2002
He earned recognition as actor through Mani Ratnam’s Yuva in 2004 where he played the role of Abhishek Bachchan’s brother and in Aashiq Banaya Aapne in 2005.
He also did a movie Kung FuYoga with Jackie Chan, there after they became a very good friend.
In May 2020, during the nationwide lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sood helped thousands of stranded Indian migrant workers to reach their homes throughout India by arranging buses & Train tickets for them. In an Interview he said
“it gave me sleepless night when I saw visuals of people walking hundreds of km to reach there villages”. Actor Sonu Sood airlifted 177 workers stuck in Kerala amid the coronavirus lockdown.
