Swapna Barman Biography
Swapna Barma is an Indian heptathlete. She was placed first in the Heptathlon at the 2017 Asian Athletics Championships. Swapna Barman won women’s heptathalon gold medal in Asian Games 2018, Jakarta Indonesia.

Swapna Barman was born on 29 October 1996 in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, India.
Swapna Barman is 22 years old.
She is unusual in having six toes on each foot, which makes her difficult to run because at one time she was unable to afford extra wide running shoes.
Her mother Basana worked on a tea estate and her father, Panchanan Barman, was a rickshaw driver. and is bed-ridden after having suffered a stroke in 2013.
Swapna uses her prize money to look after her family who live in a house without a concrete wall.
She currently gets training at the Sports Authority of India campus at Kolkata.
She is supported by the GoSports Foundation through the Rahul Dravid Athlete Mentorship Programme.

Swapna Barman Career
In Incheon in 2014, she’d finished fifth.
She got Gold medal in Federation cup in 2017 held at New Delhi.
She clinched Gold medal at Asian Championship 2017, held at Bhubaneswar.
In 2017 , the Go Sports Federation offered to help her, while ONGC also stepped in with a stipend.
She got Gold medal in 2018 Asian Games Held at Jakarta. Swapna Barman on 29 August 2018 created history by becoming the first Indian heptathlete to win an Asian Games gold. The 21-year-old Barman logged 6026 points from the seven events competed for two days.
