Bill Gates was born as William Henry “Bill” Gates III on October 28, 1955, Son of William H. Gates, Sr. and Mary Maxwell Gates. Bill Gates’s father William was very good lawyer and his mother served herself as a board of directors in First Interstate Banc System & the United Way. Bill Gates have two sisters He has two sisters – Kristi Gates & Libby Gates.
Bill studied in the Lakeside School where he shown an interest in computing. Th that time, he was just 13 when he wrote his first software program. Bill and his friends even developed their school’s payroll system which was stunning for everyone.
At the age of 17, Bill Gates do collaboration with Allen to form a company/venture called Traf-O-Data, only to make traffic counters based on the Intel 8008 processor.
Bill Gates graduated from high school in 1973. He was very good in studies and a National Merit Scholar. He get enrolled in Harvard College later the same year for further studies. He hade keen interest in computers so he spent lot of time on the computers. His very close friend Allen suggested him to drop out of college to start their own business.

Bill Gates and Paul Allen teamed up to found a company Microsoft initially it was called as Micro-Soft in 1975. First they use BASIC, a popular programming language. It was proved to be a success & then they decided to develop further programming language software for various systems.
In 1980, the Bill & Allen was approached by huge company called IBM (International Business Machine) by a proposal that Microsoft will write the BASIC interpreter for IBM’s upcoming personal computer, the IBM PC. They agreed with the offer and Microsoft created the PC DOS operating system which they delivered to IBM in exchange for a one-time fee of $50,000. This was the first success of them as a team.
In the meantime, Microsoft’s operating systems became very popular & then microsoft introduced an operating environment named Windows on November 20, 1985, which was a graphical operating system shell for MS-DOS. Since after some years, Windows came to dominate the world’s personal computer market acquiring over more then 90% market share at that time.

In January 2000, Bill Gates stepped down as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Microsoft but he retained his position as a chairman of the Microsoft.
